The Fallen Moon art installation to come to Bridgwater Docks next month

BRIDGWATER Docks will see the UK debut of a popular artist next month.

Luke Jerram’s latest creation, The Fallen Moon, will be on display from October 14 to November 3, ahead of the docks’ much-anticipated regeneration.

Throughout history, the moon has inspired artists, poets, scientists, writers, and musicians worldwide.

The Fallen Moon continues this tradition, offering a mesmerising fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight, and surround sound composition by BAFTA award-winning composer Dan Jones.

The installation will be illuminated on the water each evening from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, creating a captivating experience for all visitors.

The artwork, a 10-metre diameter replica of the Moon, is 350,000 times smaller than the real Moon and features an internally lit surface where each centimetre represents 3.5km of the Moon’s surface.

Created using NASA data, The Fallen Moon aims to inspire and connect people by reflecting the cultural and scientific significance of the Moon.
