Somerset arts festival hands over donation to air ambulance

A SOMERSET arts festival raised £1,500 for a worthy cause.

This year’s Somerton Music & Arts Festival donated the amount to Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance (D&SAA).

Treasurer, Martyn Smith, presented the money to Charlotte Humber, support engagement officer at D&SAA at Henstridge Airfield, home of the air ambulance helicopter.

The D&SAA provides life-saving emergency care across the region, funded almost entirely by charitable donations.

And Mr Smith said the Festival Committee was delighted to contribute to it’s essential work.

“We are proud to support the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance,” he said. “Thanks to the success of the festival and the fantastic support from the community, we are able to give something back to a service that helps so many people in Somerset and beyond.”

The Somerton Music & Arts Festival is run by volunteers and brings together music, arts, and community spirit each summer, with planning underway for next year’s event.
