FREE hot meals, snacks and more will be on offer at a new community café opening in Frome.
Arts organisation Terrestrial, popular in the town for creating playful projects alongside community groups, is hosting a Pop-Up Winter Café at The Key Centre, at The Mount in December and January.
As well as free hot meals and snacks, games and creative activities for all ages will also be on-hand at the warm space.
The Café will be open from 10.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, closing at 2.30pm on Fridays.
There will be a hot, homemade lunch each day, as well as after school snacks, with hot drinks on offer throughout the day, as well as cosy corners for reading, tables for people wanting to work, a toy area for toddlers, board games and quizzes.
At 3.15pm, the end of the school day, activities will be provided for children and teenagers with their grown-ups, including pool and table football, cardboard construction challenges and film screenings.
Arts activities will also be running each day, giving visitors the chance to try their hand at skills such as origami and lantern making.

Terrestrial director, Tom Spencer, said: “We’re excited to welcome people into the Key Centre for a winter of adventures.
“Warm spaces, where anyone can come and hang out – without pressure of spending money – are so important.
And we’ve got all sorts of surprises planned to make the space even more exciting, from live music to comic clubs.
“And look out on the streets for representatives from a rather unusual postal service -we’ll be knocking on doors in the area with some fun creative tasks for people to do at home.”
The Key Centre has recently been re-opened by Frome Town Council, which is supporting Terrestrial’s work.
The Pop-Up Winter Café is funded by Somerset Community Foundation’s Help Through Winter Fund, while
Terrestrial’s work around Frome is funded by Somerset Association of Local Councils and Arts Council England.
