Legendary US rockers EODM announce Somerset show

US bluegrass-trad rockers Eagles of Death Metal are heading to the sunny climes of Somerset.

The band, famed for seminal albums including Death By Sexy and Peace Love Death Metal, have announced a show at the Cheese and Grain, in Frome, on November 23.

Hailing from Palm Desert, California, EODM was founded in 1998 by Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme and has undergone a raft of line-up iterations over the years, with Hughes as the mainstay afront the band, with Homme going on to global stardom with Queens of the Stone Age.

EODM’s current touring line-up includes Leah Bluestein on drums, Scott Shiflett on guitar and Dustin Douglas on bass.

The band also hit the headlines in 2015 when, while on stage at the Bataclan in Paris, terrorists stormed the venue and attacked the audience.

Just three weeks later, the band returned to the stage with U2 in Paris in their first concert appearance since the attack, and later returned to the Bataclan to finish the show.

A documentary directed by Colin Hanks about the band and the aftermath of the Bataclan attack, titled Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends), premiered on HBO in early 2017.

A brand-new studio album is in the works, and the band have been continuing to tour worldwide, and are set to take to the stage in Somerset as part of that run, marking 20 years since the release of Death By Sexy.

Tickets for Eagles of Death Metal at the Cheese and Grain in Frome, costing £36.50 plus a standard service charge, go on sale to C&G friends on Thursday (February 26) at 10am, and on general sale from 10am the following day via cheeseandgrain.com/events/eagles-of-death-metal.
