IRON Maiden legend Steve Harris is heading to Frome in December with his band, British Lion.
The trad-rockers are set to play the Cheese and Grain on December 8, with support coming from Stray.
British Lion was Maiden founder and bass legend Harris’ first-ever side project, with the eponymous 10-song debut released in 2012, followed by The Burning in 2020.
The band is made up of vocalist Richard Taylor, guitarists David Hawkins and Grahame Leslie, Harris on bass and keyboards, with Simon Dawson on drums and according to Harris, was some time in the making.
“It’s taken years for this to come together,” he says. “Originally vocalist Richard Taylor and guitarist Grahame Leslie sent me a tape – that should show you how long ago this was,” he said.
“I was just impressed and decided to help them a bit and it went from there. I thought the songs were so strong it’d be a crime if it they didn’t see the light of day.”
