SOMERSET charities will benefit from two nights of carols at the Ilminster Minster.

On Monday and Tuesday, December 14 and 15, the rafters of the Minster will ring out to the voices of the South Somerset Choral Society’s annual Christmas Concerts.

The events are held in aid of two charities – the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance on Monday and the South and West Eating Disorders Association on Tuesday.

As well as festive favourites, the repertoire will also include some lesser-known carols, with their history explained in the programme to enhance the experience.

The concert will be conducted by the society’s musical director, John Jenkins, accompanied by notable organist and soloist, Robert Langston.

Tickets cost £18 for adults and £2 for those 16 and under, available through Ticketsource, via the society’s website at southsomersetchoralsociety.org.uk, from Ilminster Hardware, or choir members.
