BRIDGWATER Playday will return for 2026.

Bridgwater Town Council (BTC) has announced the event, celebrating a national campaign championing every child’s right to play, will take place on Wednesday, August 5, at St Matthew’s Field.

As part of the National Playday initiative, the free community event shines a spotlight on the crucial role play has in children’s wellbeing, development and happiness.

Running from 10am to 3pm, families are invited to enjoy a day of inclusive activities designed to spark creativity, encourage physical activity and bring the community together.

Organisers now want to hear from people who would like to volunteer on the day, as well as from groups and organisations interested in running children’s activities.

Providers who may wish to bring refreshment or catering vans to the event are also encouraged to get in touch.
