THE Bridgwater Carnival Concerts are on the move for 2026.
Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival organisers have confirmed the popular shows will take place from Sunday, October 4, to Thursday, October 15, at The McMillan Theatre.
The move comes as Bridgwater Town Hall – the traditional home of the carnival concerts – undergoes major refurbishment.
A spokesperson for Bridgwater Town Council, which runs the town hall, said: “The Bridgwater Carnival Concerts are an important part of the town’s cultural calendar, bringing our community together and showcasing the incredible talent and spirit of Bridgwater.
“While it is disappointing not to host the concerts in the town hall in 2026, we fully recognise how much this long-standing event means to residents, performers and visitors alike.”
The council said it was looking forward to the shows returning to the town hall in 2027, when the upgraded venue would be offered for free.
Jason Gunningham, principal at Bridgwater College, said the McMillan Theatre was proud to welcome “a special and important part of the community that celebrates music, creativity and community spirit”.
Performance times for the 2026 Bridgwater Carnival Concerts at the McMillan Theatre:
• Sunday, October 4: Matinee, 2pm
• Saturday evening performance: 6pm
• Sunday, October 11: Matinee, 2pm
• All other performances start at 7pm
Concerts will be judged exactly as in previous years, organisers confirmed, using the same criteria, formalities and trophy awards that “underpin the competitive spirit of carnival”.
