AWARD-WINNING Irish folk rockers Roving Crows are gearing up for a Somerset show next week.
On Saturday (February 28), the four-piece will be at the David Hall, in South Petherton, showcasing songs from their latest long-player, Unite.
Founded in Cheltenham in 2009, the band comprises Paul O’Neill on guitar and lead vocals, Caitlin Barrett on fiddle and backing vocals, Jim Smith on bass, guitar and backing vocals and Laurence Aldridge on drums and backing vocals.
The Roving Crows have become well known for passionate and vibrant live performances, mixing fiery, Celtic-inspired fiddle, conscious, intelligent lyrics, thumping rhythms and driving, innovative bass.
As well as gracing the stages of festivals and venues around the world, from England and Ireland to France and Australia, the band has picked up a host of accolades, including Band of the Year at the 2014 FATEA Music Awards, Best Live Act at the 2014 Spiral Earth Awards, International Artist of the Year at the Australian Celtic Music Awards 2017 and Top Celtic Rock Band and Top Fiddle Player at the Irish Music Association Awards.
