Notice is hereby given that on Friday the 17th day of October 2025 Somerset Council made the above order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised in the Bridgwater Mercury on the 19th day of August 2025 to introduce 40mph and 50mph speed limits on the lengths of road as specified in the Schedule to this Order.The Order comes into effect on the 22nd day of October 2025. A copy of the Order may be inspected online at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE is hereby given that Somerset Council proposes to make the above Order in pursuance of the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to introduce a pedestrian zone as specified in the Schedule below.
There will be exemptions in the order for:-
i) any vehicle requiring access and egress to private land as shown on the attached plan;
ii) any vehicle to be used in connection with any building operation or demolition, the removal of any obstruction to traffic, the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of any of the lengths of road so referred, or the laying, erection, alteration or repair in or near to any of the said lengths of road of any sewer, or of any main pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or of any apparatus as defined in Paragraph 1 (1) of the Telecommunication Code contained in Schedule 2 to the Telecommunications Act, 1984;
