POLICE have put up a cordon around part of a Somerset park after a “suspected ordnance” was found on the site.
The discovery was made at the Highbridge of Apex Park, near Burnham-on-Sea, during construction works near the eastern side of the park lake.
“Please be assured the cordon is in place as a precaution, and construction work stopped,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“Officers remain at the scene and we are working with Somerset Council in response to this incident.”
