INTREPID cyclists are being encouraged to put the peddle to the metal in Somerset for a good cause.
May 9 will see the cycling community come together for the Somerset Cycle, in aid of the Youth Adventure Trust (YAT) charity.
Starting from Bridgwater College, riders will take on either a 43km, 64km or 110km route through Somerset’s winding trails on the Quantock Hills in aid of the YAT, which provides life-changing outdoor adventures for vulnerable 11–16-year-olds.
Louise Balaam, director of fundraising at the YAT, said: “The Somerset Cycle was a triumph last year and that was entirely down to the incredible people on the bikes.
“It’s inspiring to see riders push their physical limits on stunning routes through the Quantocks to help local young people face their own uphill battles.”
