LAND on the edge of Taunton – which is up for sale – “could be suitable for development”, according to the firm marketing the site.
The 2.2-acre plot, south east Killams Avenue, is on the market with planning experts Greenslade Taylor Hunt (GTH), with a guide price of around £75,000.
It is bounded by housing, the M5 and agricultural land, GTH said, with experts saying it could be suitable for a mix of uses, subject to planning consent, although it falls outside the boundary of Taunton.
GTH said Somerset Council, formed in 2023 as a result of a merger of the district councils, is currentlyrelying on its predecessor’s Local Plan while it formulates a new countywide version.
“This presents an opportunity to promote the land through the emerging Somerset Local Plan, which once adopted, will set the planning policy across the unitary authority area,” a GTH spokesperson said.
