AN 80-year-old man was assaulted in Bath on Saturday afternoon (February 21).

During the incident, at around 3.45pm, the victim fell to the floor, banged his head and suffered cuts to his knuckles.

Avon & Somerset Police said a woman, of around 50 and with a dog, is believed to have assaulted him during the incident, in Argyle Street.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or with any information to come forward.

CCTV and house-to-house enquiries have been contacted while investigations continue, a spokesperson said.
