Charity ball in Taunton boosts birthday challenge total by nearly £10,000

MORE than 100 people gathered for a charity ball near Taunton.

Rumwell Orchard was the venue for the event, in aid of Cancer Research UK, on Saturday, February 7, with a total of 110 guests glammed up for a night of entertainment for a good cause.

The ball was organised by Ros Wills, in memory of her late husband, Andrew, as part of Ros’ £60k for 60 years birthday fundraising challenge.

Nearly £10,000 was raised on the night, bringing the ongoing total to £45,000.

“The generosity shown by everyone in attendance will help CRUK continue its mission to create a brighter future for all those affected by cancer,” a spokesperson said.

Guests enjoyed a packed programme of festivities, including a raffle draw, golden envelopes, and an auction of promises, alongside a three-course dinner.

The night ended on a high, with the dance floor filled as the Haus Band delivered a lively finale.

“A remarkable evening, driven by community spirit and compassion, it was fundraising at its finest,” the spokesperson added.
