COLIN Thorne has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in Yeovil.
A woman, in her 50s, called police in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 8) and said she had suffered neck injuries at a property in the West Hendford area.
She was taken to hospital but discharged later the same day, police said, with Thorne arrested within three hours of the incident.
The 32-year-old, of Kiddles, Yeovil, has now been charged with attempted murder.
He appeared before magistrates in Yeovil on Monday (February 9) and is next set to appear at Taunton Crown Court on March 9.

Avon & Somerset Police neighbourhood chief inspector, Andrew Pritchard, said: “We wish the woman a speedy recovery. Officers responded promptly, making an arrest within three hours.
“You may have seen an increased police presence in Kiddles in recent days as we carried out searches and examinations at an address.
“That work has now concluded, and there is no evidence of any wider risk to the public.”
A police spokesperson added: “A man has been remanded into custody by the court after a woman was attacked in her home in Yeovil.”
They went on: “A woman called emergency services in the early hours of Sunday (February 8), reporting that someone had been in her home and she had suffered a neck injury.
“She needed hospital treatment but thankfully was discharged the same day.”
