STOLEN items were returned to a Somerset supermarket after a police chase.
Officers were on ‘routine patrol’ in Wells this morning (February 11) when the happened upon a shoplifting incident at the Morrisons store, off East Somerset Way.
“The suspects made off from the store, resulting in a short foot chase supported by a police vehicle using blues and twos,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“The suspect vehicle was located and stopped within a nearby housing estate close to Morrisons.
“Both individuals were detained and searched. All stolen property was found within the vehicle, seized, and subsequently returned to the store.
The individuals responsible have been reported for summons to attend court for the offence of theft from a shop.”
