Roadworks in Bridgwater and Wellington delayed due to bad weather

ROADWORKS due to start tonight (February 9) on busy routes near Wellington and in Bridgwater have been postponed.

Bad weather has been blamed for delays to the works, which were set to take place at the Chelston Roundabout in Wellington, and on the A38 Taunton Road in Bridgwater.

However, work will still take place at Corporation Street and Canal Roundabout in Taunton, because “they are less affected by rain”, Somerset Council said.

The revised roadworks schedule for Taunton and Bridgwater is:

  • Chelston Roundabout: Open tonight, works continue Tuesday and Wednesday evenings to complete
  • A38 Taunton Road – Open tonight, works continue Tuesday evening
  • Canal Roundabout – Under temporary traffic lights this evening

“Thanks for your patience while we complete these improvements,” a council spokesperson added.
