Wellington voters to choose between almost the same candidates as election in November

VOTERS in Wellington will head to the polls next month to elect a new member of the town council.

A new representative is being elected to Wellington Town Council for the Rockwell Green ward, with polls open from 7am to 10pm on Tuesday, February 10.

Nominees include Andy Denison, standing for Reform UK, fresh on the back of losing an election for the Wellington South ward to Lib Dem, Gareth Williams, in November last year.

Other unsuccessful veterans of that election will also appear on the ballot paper – Bethany Hill, standing for the Labour Party, and Conservative candidate, Edward Alexander Yates.

The Lib Dems field George Robert John Western, the only fresh face to voters – because the Lib Dems won in November…

The candidates to represent Rockwell Green on Wellington Town Council are:

  • Andy Denison – Reform UK
  • Bethany Rose Hill – Labour Party
  • George Robert John Western – Liberal Democrats
  • Edward Alexander Yates – Conservative Party

People have until January 23 to register to vote, which can be done online at somerset.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/register-to-vote.

A vote for a new councillor to represent the Park ward on Frome Town Council will take place on the same day following the resignation of Max Wide.
