SOMERSET could see snow on Christmas Day, according to forecasters, but it is unlikely to settle.
The Met Office says a “slight frost” is possible overnight between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
And on the big day itself, the south west – including the west of Somerset – could see “a few rain or sleet showers”.
Forecasters said of Christmas Eve night: “A colder night than recent, with clear skies allowing a slight frost possible in some rural areas.”
Temperatures would drop to around freezing, they added, with a cold start to Christmas Day, which would be “mostly dry with plenty of sunshine in the east”.
“The far west of the region will be cloudier, perhaps with a few rain or sleet showers,” the Met Office added.
There would be “a cold, blustery wind”, they said, with temperatures reaching around 6C.
From Boxing Day and through the weekend, the experts said things would be “largely dry”, with clear and sunny spells, though staying “cold throughout, with some night frost, and windy for a while”.

1962 ended with a high pressure weather over north UK and northwards with a low down here. This is like now is finishing 2025. Let’s hope 2026 does not start like 1963
