Taunton developer helps provide presents for children this Christmas

TAUNTON-based developer Summerfield is once again supporting the Christmas Sparkle charity, helping to spread festive cheer to disadvantaged children and families.

The initiative aims to ensure every child living in difficult circumstances in the community receives a gift at Christmas.

Summerfield provides office space at Victoria House where the group can set up donation drop-off points and offers staff volunteers to help gift wrap, as well as making a £1,000 donation.

Gill Harrison, from the Christmas Sparkle project, said: “As in previous years we have had thousands of items generously donated allowing us to bring joy by sending gifts to several thousand babies and children and young people around Taunton and Wellington.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who is able to make a donation, and to Summerfield for the continued support in making sure that those in need really do have something to smile about this Christmas.

“Sadly, there are many families facing difficulties and experiencing hardship, through no fault of their own.”

Christmas Sparkle welcomes new items suitable for all ages, ranging from baby toys and clothes, puzzles, family games, toiletries, through to products for teenage girls and boys such as make-up and aftershave.

The Summerfield collection points in Taunton are the Summerfield head office, Tauntfield, in South Road, and the Eastside Canteen at Victoria House, in Victoria Street.

James Holyday, managing director at Summerfield, added: “Christmas Sparkle is a truly wonderful charity and we are delighted to be able to support each Christmas.

“Our staff always take great pleasure in getting involved, knowing how much these generous donations made will mean a lot to local families.”
