UNATTENDED items left on a cooker led to fire crews being called to a village on the Somerset/Devon border.
Crews from Taunton and Wellington were sent to the scene, in Clayhidon, at just after noon on Monday, December 15, after reports of smoke coming from a property.
On arrival, the firefighters got to work extinguishing a fire using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, a safety jet, a thermal image camera, a positive pressure ventilation fan and a triple extension ladder.
A Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the accidental fire was caused by unattended items left on the cooker.
