A BASTION of British tailoring with a history stretching back some 250 years has opened a new outlet in Somerset.

Gieves & Hawkes, which has a tradition linked to the military and royalty, has opened a store in the recently-redeveloped Shire’s Yard, in Broad Street, Bath.

The three-floor shop welcomed shoppers from December 6 and offers ready-to-wear tailoring and casualwear to a made-to-measure service.

“Bath is a city where Gieves & Hawkes has enjoyed a longstanding presence and loyal following,” said managing director, Jason Gerrard.
