ARTHUR O’Brien has appeared in court charged with assaulting a man in Wincanton on Sunday (November 30).
The 33-year-old, of Ilminster Avenue, Knowle, appeared at Yeovil Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (December 2) charged with causing grievous bodily harm and being in possession of an offensive weapon.
The victim remains in hospital with injuries which are described as being life-changing, but not life-threatening, police said.
It came after an incident in Wincanton High Street at around 9.28am on Sunday morning.
A police cordon was put in place while investigations got underway.
