“ESSENTIAL” roadworks will see night-time road closures and temporary traffic lights installed in Crewkerne next week.

Wessex Water is set to carry out repairs to replace environmental monitoring equipment on the A356 Broadshard Road from Tuesday until Thursday, December 2 to 4.

The work begins at 9am on Tuesday, when traffic lights will be installed and put into operation.

Lights will then be in place during the day, between 6am and 7pm, with the route closed to traffic between 7pm and 6am.

During the closures, a diversion will in place via Ashlands Road, the A30 (Yeovil Road), A3088, A303, A356.

“Wessex Water have advised that residents can continue to use their sewerage services as normal unless advised otherwise,” a Crewkerne Town Council spokesperson said.

“Thank you for your patience while they carry out this essential work.”
