TWO men have been charged as part of an investigation into cocaine worth £26.5 million seized off the Somerset coast.
The charges come after the drugs were found “dropped off at sea” at Watchet in July.
Colin Benson, 59, and Joshua Rose, 38, both from Longton in Preston, were arrested by National Crime Agency (NCA) officers investigating the incident on Tuesday (November 4).
The pair appeared at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (November 6) charged with importing class A drugs, where they were remanded into custody before their next appearance, at North Somerset Crown Court, on December 5.
Four other individuals have pleaded guilty in relation to importation and are due to be sentenced at the same crown court on November 13.
