A 24-YEAR-OLD man from Weston-Super-Mare kicked out at police officers and threw an object during a riot at a police station in Bristol.
Jacob Dolphin has been sentenced for affray, committed during a riot in Bristol in 2021.
On Thursday (October 24), at Bristol Crown Court, Dolphin was handed an 18-month community order, and ordered to complete 170 hours of unpaid work, as well as paying a £900 fine and a £95 surcharge.
It came after the court heard he kicked out at officers on five occasions and threw an object during a riot outside Bridewell Police Station on March 21, 2021.
Judge Peter Blair described the violence during the riot as some of the worst seen in the city’s history.
A number of people have been jailed for their part in the disturbance, which erupted after a peaceful protest against the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, which attracted thousands of people.
However, later in the day, violence broke out outside Bridewell police station.
