Saturday recycling collections set to run as more Somerset households see delays: Here’s where

“OPERATIONAL issues” are set to continue delays in recycling collections across Somerset today (September 26).

Somerset Council said residents may see missed pick-ups as crews work to tackle a backlog started earlier in the week.

Today, Friday, recycling collections could be affected in and around Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Somerton, Castle Cary, Taunton and nearby towns and villages.

“If residents’ recycling has not been collected on the day it is scheduled, they are asked leave boxes and bags out and crews will return the next day, this includes collections on Saturday, September 27 – there’s no need to report it,” a Somerset Council spokesperson said.

“Crews will be working to try to make sure recycling is collected and will be working on Saturday if needed.

“Households whose collections were missed yesterday (Thursday), will be collected today (September 26).

If it’s been more than 24 hours and the recycling has not been collected, residents should report a missed collection online at www.somerset.gov.uk/missed-collection.
