More missed recycling collections in Somerset: List of areas affected

RECYCLING collections today (September 25) are once again facing delays – as crews catch up on previous missed stops.

Somerset Council said residents expecting a pick-up on Thursday may see them delayed as “a range of operational issues” continue.

On Thursday, September 25, some residents in and around parts of Coxley, Wells, Glastonbury, Street, Wookey, Shepton Mallet, Yeovil, Taunton and their surrounding towns and villages may have a delayed collection, the council said.

“If residents’ recycling has not been collected on the day it is scheduled, they are asked leave boxes and bags out and crews will return the next day – there’s no need to report it,” a spokesperson added.

“Crews will be working to try to make sure recycling is collected and will be working on Saturday if needed.”

“Households whose collections were missed yesterday (Wednesday), will be collected today.”

If it’s been more than 24 hours and the recycling has not been collected, residents should report a missed collection online at www.somerset.gov.uk/missed-collection.
