Mayor officially opens 2025 Bridgwater Fair

THE historic Bridgwater Fair – and West Street Market – are open!

Mayor of Bridgwater, Cllr Kathy Pearce, was on hand to do the honours and declare the 2025 event open this morning (September 24).

“With West Street buzzing with stalls, rides and visitors, this year’s fair brings all the traditional fun,” a Bridgwater Town Council spokesperson said.

Cllr Pearce was also able to unveil something “truly special” – a life-sized horse sculpture.

Named Little Jessie: A Horse for Bridgwater, the steel creation marks the start of the new Bridgwater Heritage Trail.

Bridgwater Fair, which also includes stalls lining West Street, runs until Saturday.

“So come down, enjoy the atmosphere and be part of this proud Bridgwater tradition,” the spokesperson added.
