A WOMAN in her 70s was hit by a lorry in the North Somerset village of Backwell on Friday morning (September 19) and suffered “life-changing injuries”.
Police were called to the scene, in Station Road, near the junction with Station Close, at just before 10.30am.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries,” an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“Road closures were initially in place while emergency services responded but these have since been lifted.”
