SMALL business owners are being invited to have their say at an event in Somerton next week.
MP Sarah Dyke (Lib Dem, Glastonbury & Somerton) is hosting a round-table event on Friday, August 29, to discuss issues facing the sector, as well as opportunities and priorities in the future.
The MP said the format is designed to encourage open discussions, to explore common challenges, identify emerging opportunities, and consider how best to strengthen the environment in which small businesses operate.
“I fully recognise the vital role that small businesses play at the heart of our local economy, from the high street to rural enterprises,” she said.
“However, I’m aware that many businesses continue to face pressures from rising costs, changing consumer behaviour, evolving technologies, and an increasingly competitive marketplace. On top of which, businesses are now grappling with the changes to employer NICs announced in the last budget.”
“Your insights will help me ensure that the Government’s Small Business Strategy reflects the real priorities and challenges faced by business owners in Glastonbury and Somerton,” she added.
“By joining us and contributing to these discussions, you’ll be shaping practical solutions that will help to sustain and grow our local economy.”
To secure a free place at the Small Business Round Table, RSVP to sarah.dyke.mp@parliament.uk, with details of the location and timings set to be confirmed on the morning of the meeting.
