Glastonbury garage set for new Co-op and Deli by Shell shop after makeover

A GLASTONBURY filling station is undergoing a makeover – and plans have been submitted for new signs.

Wirral Park Service Station, in Wirral Park Road, is currently undergoing a refit and is closed to customers.

Now, plans submitted to Somerset Council by MBH Design Studio on behalf of Shell UK Oil Products are asking for permission to install new signs at the site.

A host of illuminated and non-illuminated signs will indicate the new look and set-up of the store, incorporating the Co-op badge and ‘Deli by Shell’ branding.

Nationwide, Shell garages incorporating the Co-op stock products from the supermarket chain, including pizzas and sandwiches. Deli by Shell features sandwiches, hot savouries and baked confectionary.

Council planners will now consider the plans. For more details, and to comment on the scheme, log on to somerset.gov.uk and search application reference 2025/1415/ADV.
