A GATE between a Yeovil church and a car park has been closed due to anti-social behaviour which has seen the cut-through handed the nickname ‘poo corner’.

It is understood the walkway, at Yeovil Methodist Church, has been locked shut as people are using the back entrance ‘as a toilet’.

A church member said: “Unfortunately, the gate between the church and car park is having to be locked due to anti-social behaviour.

“We have had issues with people using the back entrance as a toilet, to the extent it has the nickname ‘poo corner’.

“While this issue has been cleared, it still remains vulnerable to being used as such. Hopefully its just temporary measure and will open again soon.

“Thank you for your understanding.”

Yeovil Methodist Church sits in Vicarage Street, on the edge of the Quedam Shopping Centre, in the centre of the town.
