TWO people have been arrested after police noticed a surge in reports of thefts from vehicles in Yeovil – on social media.
After seeing posts online, officers from Avon & Somerset Police’s Yeovil team contacted people in connection with alleged thefts.
Now, they have confirmed two males have been arrested.
“One male offender has been charged with three offences of theft from a motor vehicle and the other male was charged with burglary and theft,” a spokesperson said.
“Both have been remanded and are currently in police custody.
“The public’s assistance and support with these matters enables us to take this effective action against this offending keeping our streets safer.”
