Two arrested over 11 shoplifting incidents at Weston-super-Mare Co-op

TWO people have been recalled to prison after being arrested over shoplifting in Weston-Super-Mare.

Avon & Somerset Police said “two prolific shoplifters”, who were wanted in connection with 11 offences at the Co-op in Whitecross Road over the past week, were taken into custody on Wednesday night (August 13).

“Thanks to swift action and intelligence-led policing, both individuals were charged and remanded in custody,” a spokesperson said. “Following their arrest, they have also been recalled to prison.

“We remain committed to tackling repeat offending and supporting local businesses affected by crime,” they added.

“If you see suspicious activity, please report it – your information helps us take action.”
