A COMPUTER shop in Street is closing today – after plans to convert the premises into a takeaway were approved.
7 System Computers Ltd, in the Bayliss Centre, has announced it will close at 5pm today (July 24).
The move comes after a bid to convert the property, by Sanjay Patel, was approved by Somerset Council on July 10.
Drawings submitted as part of the application show new signage for Fireaway Authentic Pizza.
An online message from 7 System Computers said the application had “adversely impacted” the business and it was closing.
Customers reacted with sadness to the news, with one saying: “I’m sorry to hear this. You’ve always offered great, honest service and will be missed. Best of luck going forward.”
Another added: “Very sad to hear this, a fantastic service offered to the community and unlike another fast food shop, it was a very valuable. Good luck.”
