A YEOVIL property linked to drug dealing and other anti-social behaviour has been closed by a court.
On Wednesday (July 16), magistrates in the town issued a three-month closure order on the premises, at Walnut House, in The Manse, after sustained reports of problems from residents.
Representatives from Avon & Somerset Police’s Yeovil Neighbourhood Policing Team, the Anti-Social Behaviour Team, ABRI and legal services attended the court hearing, where magistrates were told of links to Class A drug dealing at the property.
Now, anyone who tries to access the property is committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
“If you see someone trying to gain access, please call 999,” a police spokesperson said. “We hope that this will make the area a safer place for local residents, without the fear of criminality from the address impacting their lives.
“Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated by Yeovil Neighbourhood Policing Team and together we will look at legal solutions to protect our community.
“We ask that anyone experiencing such issues in their neighbourhood to report to police.”
