WORK to upgrade electricity poles will close a major route near Crewkerne for almost a month.
The A356 through Misterton will be closed between 8am and 6pm on weekdays from July 31, lasting for an estimated 22 days, as National Grid engineers work to replace the poles to “improve public safety and future capacity”.
The route will remain open during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Misterton Town Council said access to properties and businesses will be maintained, but warned of delays.
Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place at the Haselbury Plucknett/A30 junction, to enable large vehicles to turn towards Crewkerne, with a diversion route in place via North Perrott and Haselbury Plucknett.
