Fire crews tackle blaze on top floor of Bridgwater flats

CREWS put out a fire on the top floor of a Bridgwater flat.

Firefighters from Bridgwater and Taunton were sent to the scene, in West Street, at just after 8.10pm last night (July 8).

“A request from the incident for an additional two fire engines from Taunton and an aerial ladder platform from Bridgwater came shortly after their arrival on scene,” a Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“Attending fire crews confirmed that there was a fire located on the top floor.

“Crews used four beathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one safety jet, two thermal imaging cameras, one smoke curtain and the aerial ladder platform to extinguish the fire and locate any hot spots.”
