New area – and gazebo warning – ahead of Glastonbury 2025

A NEW area for festival goers to “take time out” has been revealed for Glastonbury 2025 – including a 40ft stained-glass dragon.

Organisers of the event, which gets underway at Worthy Farm, Pilton, on Wednesday (June 25), have announced details of the Dragon’s Tail venue.

Nestled between Shangri-La and the Unfairground, Dragon’s Tail is billed as “a gloriously relaxed new space to take time out, find shade and shelter and revel in the moment”.

A Glastonbury spokesperson added: “Here you’ll find a pocket of calm in the site’s fabled South East corner.

“Vast murals adorn the area and at its apex, you’ll find the striking 40 metre stained-glass dragon sculpture, created by acclaimed artist Edgar Phillips, that lends the space its name.

“Served by the chilled-out Wyvern’s Watch bar with laid-back tunes provided by Notting Hill Carnival’s Little Big vintage sound system, Dragon’s Tail is a respite for those recharging from their merriment. Discover and enjoy.”

Meanwhile, festival chiefs have also urged campers not to bring gazebos with them.

The shelters can worsen campsite crowding, and anyone putting them up may be asked to take them down by crew.

“Please don’t bring gazebos to Glastonbury 2025, as they take up valuable tent space,” a spokesperson said. “If any do appear people may be politely asked to take them down to free up camping space for others.

“We’d also ask that you don’t put tape around your tent enclosures, please. It makes it harder for others to get to their tents, can cause a hazard and creates unnecessary waste.”
