A KEY Somerset route will be closed during the day as resurfacing works are carried out.
Somerset Council will be resurfacing the B3227 between Wiveliscombe and Preston Bowyer, with work scheduled between June 11 and 13, although the authority said it hoped the work will be completed in one day.
During the work, the road will be closed to vehicles between 9.30am and 3pm, with pedestrian access maintained throughout for residents, with some restrictions and delays possible.
The council’s lead member for transport and waste services, Councillor Richard Wilkins, said: “This is an important scheme for a busy route between Wiveliscombe and Preston Bowyer, and eventually into Norton Fitzwarren and Taunton.
“The team will do its best to get the work completed as quickly and painlessly as possible – please do liaise with them if you are a resident and need to raise any issues around access.
“We are extremely grateful to residents for their support and understanding while this work is done.”
