POLICE are tracing three people who are alleged to have assaulted a 10-year-old boy – and dismantled his bike – in Portishead.
The victim was riding his bike in Merlin Park, Portishead, at around 5.15pm on Tuesday (May 20), when three “much older” teenage boys offered him cider, an Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“When he refused, the teenagers assaulted him and took and dismantled his bicycle,” they added.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Tim Stride added: “We’re investigating this as an assault causing actual bodily harm, and will be following up some positive lines of enquiry.
“We’ll be targeting Merlin Park with proactive uniformed patrols and we’ll be contacting local schools to reinforce acceptable behaviour messages ahead of the half term holidays.”
Anyone who has information regarding the incident should contact police on 101 and give the reference number 5225141114.
