THE winners of Bridgwater and Burnham’s Independent Shop Awards – run by MP Ashley Fox – have been announced.
The initiative, which the Conservative MP launched to champion shops and services in his Bridgwater seat, invited residents to nominate and vote for their favourite businesses across a range of categories.
More than 1,000 votes were cast, and the winners have now been revealed.
The 2025 winners of the Bridgwater & Burnham Independent Shop Awards 2025 are:
• Beauty – Prim N Proper, Burnham-on-Sea
• Butcher – Truckles Farm Shop, Burnham-on-Sea
• Café – May’s Café, Burnham-on-Sea
• Children & Babies – G H Hurleys Toymaster, Burnham-on-Sea
• Clothing and Accessories – Wilkins Jewellers, Bridgwater
• Craft and Hobby – Material Needs, Burnham-on-Sea
• Farm and Produce – North Farm CluckyMoo, Pawlett
• Food and Drink – Maisey’s Bakery, Highbridge
• Gifts and Stationery – Bastins, Burnham-on-Sea
• Homeware – Prowse Antiques and Interiors @ Vintage Wet, Bridgwater
• Pharmacy – Woolavington Pharmacy
• Tourist Accommodation – The Old Vicarage, Bridgwater
• Village Shop – Westcroft Eggs & Farm Shop, Berrow
• Other – G H Tyres, Burnham-on-Sea

Mr Fox said: “Our independent businesses are at the heart of community life. These awards are a chance to say thank you to the local traders who bring so much character, service, and quality to our towns and villages.
“I’m delighted to see such strong support for them. A huge well done to all the winners and nominees, and to everyone who took the time to vote.”
He said the Bridgwater & Burnham Independent Shop Awards will return next year.
