MEMBERS of the public braved the cold last night (March 4) to rescue a man who had fallen into water in Bridgwater.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said it was alerted by the South West Ambulance Service at around 10.11pm that their assistance was needed after receiving reports of the incident.
A crew from Bridgwater was mobilised alongside a water rescue team from Exmouth.
The teams were stood down, however, thanks to members of the public stepping in to rescue the man.
“Crew confirmed that one male was successfully rescued by members of the public, and crew assisted with providing first aid alongside the ambulance service,” a spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said.
