A PUB in Cheddar could see a new camera installed to put an end to drivers ‘abusing’ the car park.
Parkingeye has proposed to install an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) camera and pay-and-display machines at the 62-space car park behind the Bath Arms Hotel in Cheddar.
This camera would capture the number plates of all vehicles that enter and exit the car park and would be used to track how long cars are parked up for, issuing tickets if drivers exceed the allotted time.

In the plans, Parkingeye says the camera is needed due to drivers abusing the car park – but it did not go into specifics.
The pub’s website says parking is free for customers.
“The proposal will ensure that the existing car park is used more effectively and reduce the amount of abuse that currently occurs,” a spokesperson said.
It added that the new camera would ensure spaces are available for “genuine” users.

Love the community spirit !!!!! NOT . When the Bath Arms was owned by JIM low , he supported the villagers parking in his car park whilst they shopped and worked in the village. The said villagers then enjoyed using the pub in return, never expected but it worked both ways. NON of that here.
Well said. They are also expecting their next door neighbours to send a spreadsheet with the registration plates of staff plus all their suppliers vehicle registrations so they dont get fines! Cheek of it. When told they could have a list of staff car regs and the names of suppliers to contact for details. They ( she) replied that the neighbours were being nasty . Absolutely redic thinking people would do your dirty work ! As has been said , no community spirit and clearly prefers to lose customers!
