FIRE displays, races and laughter are all part of the plan for youngsters at the Wychwood Festival.
Running from May 30 to June 1 at Cheltenham Racecourse, the event – seen as the start of the festival season – has announced a programme of activities and workshops in a Village Green area.
“We’ve prepared three action-packed days, filled with fun, creativity and adventure,” a spokesperson said. “Whether you’re looking to learn some new dance moves, master circus skills, immerse yourself in fantastic storytelling, or get creative with arts and crafts, the Village Green has something for everyone.
“Best of all, every activity is included in your ticket price.”

Performances lined up include from Glastonbury Festival favourite Dan The Hat, fire and LED displays from the award-winning Flame Oz, as well as races, games, and laughter at the Silly Sports Day.
Elsewhere, festival goers can feel the rhythm and energy of Bollywood & Bhangra Dance, led by Sohan Kailey, or spark creativity and confidence with an inspiring spoken word session from the Cheltenham Poetry Festival team.
“Plus we’re thrilled to welcome to Wychwood the team behind The National Trust’s hit kids’ podcast Ranger Rae and the Wildlifers,” the spokesperson added.
“Join them for an interactive, nature-inspired podcast-making show – dive into storytelling, listen to episodes on silent disco headphones, and even help shape Ranger Rae’s next adventure.”
Day and weekend tickets for Wychwood are on sale now, though people are being warned more than 75% of weekend camping tickets have gone.
