POLICE were called to Weston-super-Mare Recycling Centre earlier this morning (January 27) following fears a possible ordinance was found at the site over the weekend.
The recycling centre at Aisecome Way was temporarily closed to allow the item to be inspected.
Police said the item was found not to be an ordinance and the recycling centre reopened at around 1.30pm.

“Officers were dispatched to Aisecome Way, Weston-super-Mare, following a call shortly before 10.10am this morning where staff at the recycling centre reported that possible ordnance had been found there over the weekend,” an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.
“As a precaution, staff at the site took the decision to close the site while police attended.
“Upon inspecting the item, officers concluded it was not ordnance and there was no safety risk.”

Shame, might get the lads moving instead of standing there watching old woman struggle with recycling.
Good job really, they would have tried saying it’s chargeable like everything else they make up down there. Clowns
