POLICE have been cracking down on drink/drug drivers across the county as part of an ongoing campaign.
Avon and Somerset Police said 35 people in total have been arrested in just the first week of the national month-long campaign, #OpLimit, which began on December 1.
“Each of these individuals made the choice to put lives at risk by getting behind the wheel while intoxicated – and will now face serious consequences,” an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.
Police are now appealing for the public to report people they believe could be driving while intoxicated.
“We need your help to take dangerous drivers off the road before they can cause harm,” a spokesperson added.
“If you suspect someone is driving under the influence of drink or drugs, report it.
“If you know someone that habitually drinks or drug drives, call 101 or report it online.
“If it’s happening now, always call 999.”
Reports can be made via the Avon and Somerset Police website.
