A TEENAGER sadly died after being hit by a car on the M5 last night (November 11).
The 17-year-old girl was hit between junctions 24 (Bridgwater) and 25 (Taunton) at around 11pm.
Sadly, she died at the scene. Police said her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specially-trained officer.
“Our thoughts are with them,” they added. “No one else was injured in the collision.”
This morning (November 12), the M5 remains while enquiries are carried out.
“A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to recent prior police contact,” the Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson added.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage which could help the investigation, should contact police on 101 and give reference number 1170 of November 11.

Clearly the teenager had problems, but I feel so much for the (presumably) innocent car driver caught up in this.
